PROFESSIONAL DIVISION 2023 - Annual July 4th Hot Dog Eating Contest Sponsored By Sonic Drive-In

Think you have the stomach to win the annual Canton Texas Chamber of Commerce (CTCC) Hot Dog Eating Contest? Would a grand prize of $1,500 give you a little motivation?
If so, all you need to do is fill out your application, pay your $20, get your free T-shirt and eat more hot dogs in 10 minutes than your competitors.

Thanks to our Sponsor SONIC, and the great turn out last year, this year we will be holding two separate divisions for the Hot Dog Eating Contest. We will have both a Professional and Amateur division.
We are expecting to attract some real competitive eaters this year!
The cost to enter is only $20 and it includes your event T-shirt to wear during the contest and all the hot dogs you can eat.
RULES:- Must be 18 years of age to enter.
- Men and women may enter and compete together.
- Must present ID day of the event.
- Contestants may NOT touch hot dogs until the starting signal.
- Only entire hot dogs eaten will be counted (an entire hot dog includes the bun.)
- Contestants will have 10 minutes to down all the hot dogs they can handle.
- Contestants may drink water while eating their hot dogs.
- Buns and hot dogs may be eaten separately.
- Hot dogs may be dunked in water, but not dissolved.
- All portions of the hot dog (including the bun) must be eaten.
- When the 10-minute time limit is up, contestants may not put any additional hot dog or buns in their mouths.
- Contestants will have 20 seconds to swallow what is in their mouths.
- Any contents remaining in contestant’s mouths at the end of 20 seconds will NOT be counted.
- Partially eaten hot dogs will not be counted.
- Visible signs of sickness will result in disqualification.
- Ties will be decided by a (3) hot dog eating contest.

I know that eating large amounts of hot dogs is potentially hazardous and an uncomfortable activity. I should not enter and eat unless I am medically capable. I realize this is all in good fun, and possibly bad taste, but I agree to be a good sport. I agree to abide by any decision of the contest officials and all of the contest rules. I assume all risks associated with eating in this type of event including, but not limited to: Indigestion, that stuffed feeling, contact with other contestants, a general dislike for hot dogs after I am done. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of you accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the Canton Texas Chamber of Commerce, SONIC Drive-In, the City of Canton, TX and the contest organizers from all claims of liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event.

6:00 PM - 6:45 PM CDTStarting at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 4, in downtown Canton, the CTCC will host an evening of Fourth of July family events including a Bike Decorating and Watermelon Eating Contests for children, the Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest , the Fourth of July parade and a spectacular Fireworks Show put on by the City of Canton.
