A moderate cost environment with a laid back lifestyle does not mean the lack of quality city services. Canton offers all the big city government services with small town friendliness and is also the county seat of Van Zandt County.
The City of Canton is served by the Canton Independent School District. Canton ISD has been very fortunate to have all four campuses and the district earn the “Exemplary” rating from the Texas Education Agency. The district also excelled in the area of Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), and received a “Superior Achievement” distinction on the Financial Integrity System of Texas (FIRST)
